The neon Valdivieso sign of Santiago, Chile has been a mainstay of the city for over six decades now. Created in 1955 by the Luminosos Parragué company, it has advertised the Valdivieso champagne brand and bathed the surrounding area in a sea of neon ever since. Anyone passing through that part of town can expect to see the big neon champagne bottle constantly pouring glasses of champagne throughout the night!
In 2010, the sign was officially made a national monument of Chile and can expect to be a city and national landmark for many more decades to come!
The sign switches on every night at 9 pm during the summertime and at 6 pm during the winter months.
