At the time of this writing, the title of the largest neon collection in Europe and one of the largest neon collections in the world period goes to God’s Own Junkyard in London!
A sort of combination of neon gallery and neon/electric sign museum, God’s Own Junkyard is owned by UK neon artist and designer Chris Bracey. God’s Own Junkyard is home to thousands of neon signs that have either been created by Bracey himself or vintage signs that have been discarded by businesses or movie sets. Many of the discarded movie signs were created by Bracey himself and were featured in blockbuster movies such as 1989’s “Batman”, “Blade Runner”, the 1999 Stanley Kubrick film “Eyes Wide Shut”, and many other Hollywood blockbusters.
Many of the signs on display here are available for rent for special occasions. In addition, a cafe – The Rolling Scones – is open during the weekends where patrons can drink coffee while they partake the wonderland of color!
